The Christmas Tag | Blogmas # 5

Hello everyone and I hope you’re having a joyful day! πŸŽ„β€οΈ Welcome to another entry of Blogmas and I hope you enjoy today’s post!

So for those of you who don’t know, I’m doing Blogmas wherein I post 15 entries also as preparation for Christmas. I can’t blog everyday this December and have 24 posts because I’ll be having my midterms in the third week of December and I gotta prepare so yeah! Enjoy my posts!

This post was long overdue but I only had the time to post this today so yeah! You might ask, Ji? Christmas Tag? AGAIN? I feel like it’s not Blogmas when I haven’t answered Christmas Q and As!!! Since I’ve been doing Christmas tags for the past two years, I’ve searched for new questions to answer and I’ve been growing in this blog and I hope my answers do, too! I found the questions here.

The Christmas Tag 2018

1. Material or immaterial on Christmas?

Of course, I’d gladly go with immaterial things. Receiving material things are also GOOD since you get to have new stuff, read letters and it’s nice to know that someone thought of you to give you a present, but immaterial things like happiness, presence and most importantly, love and support would make Christmas a lot more better. Christmas is all about giving love, peace and comfort to one another and these things cannot surpass any material things.

2. What is the worst present you’ve ever received?

Honestly, none. Every present came from someone’s effort and it could never be worst. Whether it be a Christmas card, a really old-fashioned shirt or a really ugly letter with a bad handwriting, it can never be a negative thing. It came from someone’s mind and effort to give it to you so you must be thankful for it. As for me, I’ve never really received a worst present.

3. How do you see Christmas in the eyes of a parent? (If you are not yet one.)

I honestly think this is a fun question so I’m going to answer it. I think Christmas is a really busy time for the parents because one, they need to prepare for the house decor, the treats, the gifts for their kids and for the other kids who’ll come jingling at home, the cooking and all the money they’ll be spending for their child’s wants for Christmas. But aside from these, I also think that Christmas is one of the best times where they can express their ultimate love for their children and be actually THERE for them because it’s the best holiday one can ever have. It’s time for family and I think they’re really excited too to just spend time with their kids and watch movies or just really bond together.

If this is wrong from a parent’s point of view, I’m sorry! I’m just a child still living with my parents and this is how I see it. Haha.

4. How has Christmas changed to you during the course of time?

From someone who celebrates Christmas since literally one year old, I think it’s a lot more fun being a kid celebrating Christmas. The times where you go jingling to every houses in your town and they’d give you coins because they’re generous or they don’t have other choice. (Lol.) As to my own experiences, I also enjoyed Christmas a lot more when I was a kid because I got to experience the parlor games my aunts conduct and now, I’m just one of those who watches. We’re kind of also losing the Christmas spirit as time goes by because now, we don’t have any Christmas decorations at our house. (So sad, right?) We just go to different tourist spots where it’s really Christmassy and enjoy the vibes there.

5. Do you still feel the magic of Christmas?

Yes, definitely, yes. Even though we don’t have home decors, I feel it from other people. Yesterday (Sunday), I went out to have some alone time with myself and I see people who I DON’T really know smiling randomly and greeting because yeah, it’s almost Christmas. I was so fascinated with it and I did the same to them. If they’d greet me ‘good afternoon’, I’d do the same as well and smile at them BECAUSE IT HONESTLY FEELS GREAT. This is one of the magics of Christmas.

6. At what age did you stop believing in the magic of Santa?

Maybe when I was around 9 or 10 years old? I don’t really know. I studied elementary at a Christian school and the teachers there just told us that Santa Claus isn’t real and he is never coming to town. I really once believed in Santa because I do hang stockings in my window for Santa to put presents in it and when I wake up the next day, it has something in it. Little did I know, it was my parents who do that. And now, I don’t actually want to believe in Santa if I’ll be a kid again. He’s not the true reason of Christmas.

7. Is there anyone who would make your Christmas worth it?

Yes!! My parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and all the other relatives who visits us in our famous meeting place which is my grandparent’s house. Everyone who comes during Christmas and spreads positivity and happiness makes my Christmas super duper worth it.

8. Christmas or New Year?

Both are special occasions for me since both have their own meanings and reasons. Christmas is for celebrating Christ’s birth and for literally just spreading happiness, peace and love to everyone around whilst New Year is for ourselves, to make resolutions and make ourselves better for the whole months to come. When it comes to food, I’d say that we have a lot more in New Year than in Christmas, but both still enjoyable!

9. What would be your dream place to visit in Christmas?

Grindelwald, Switzerland. Just damn, the place LOOKS SO DREAMY. My mom likes this place as well and I’d like to bring her here someday!

10. How much do you love the idea of Christmas?

I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Like everything. I love it. No words for everything’s a lot more better in Christmas. ❀️
