I don’t really know the situation of COVID-19 and quarantine in other countries, but since almost all of us are now under quarantine, I’m posting this as a reminder to check on your friends, family and anyone you can think of. Everyone is having a hard time to cope with the whole situation going on, so please be reminded to keep in touch with your friends.
I’ve been staying inside our house for like 20 days now. Honestly, I haven’t really seen the outside world because we cannot go outside. I only see the trees when I peek out from our windows. And no, I’m not actually complaining of staying at home because this is the least I can do to help in the situation, but there are times for sure, it drives me crazy. My mom is feeling the same way, too. We miss being outside so much and I think we all do. We miss doing the normal things that we do, having lunch outside, meeting with friends and everything. We may miss these so much but let us value our own lives and others’ lives by staying home.
And thus, let us check on our friends who suffer from anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. They might be experiencing some kind of trauma going through all these and this is literally a super hard time for them. It is so hard for them too to distract themselves right now because of isolation so please make sure that you talk to them. Also, if you have a friend, family or loved one who’s home alone during this time, make sure you go talk to them, too. Introvert or extrovert, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you check up on them. Remember that our mental health is just as important as our physical health so be sure to check up on yourself, too! 💕
If you’re shy to be the first one to greet and/or message them, and if you don’t know any topics to talk about, you can always send them gifs, animations and cute photos that would make their day brighter. But honestly, the most important thing is that they are reminded that they are not alone and we will all get through this together.
