Our Home Mini Garden Tour

We all know that plants help us in so many ways and looking at them definitely brings peace of mind and tranquility. One of the hobbies that my mom developed this quarantine is to collect plants and make them grow. She’s honestly so in love with plants that you can see plants anywhere in our home. And I’m so down for it. So for today’s post, I will show you our home garden.

Why did we start a home garden?

Before I show you the pictures, let me tell you a little back story first. As most of you know, I’ve lived in Manila for my freshman year in university so I’ve had to leave home. Earlier this year (before the pandemic happened), my two older brothers also left our home and went abroad to work. So my parents were the only two left in the house and they were too busy with their own work that our house looked like something you wouldn’t want to live in.

Last March, because of the pandemic, I needed to go home and stay with my parents. I kept telling my parents to buy me a white paint so that I could paint the walls or our house and make it neat. After a long time of convincing, they finally agreed and as soon as the stores open, they bought everything I need to paint the house. After painting the walls white, my mom decided to buy indoor plants and everything just suited perfectly.

That’s where it all started. My mom and her sister likes to buy plants and it surprises me every time my mom goes home with a new set of plants. I couldn’t blame her, though! Seeing plants around us definitely helps with changing our moods.

Home Mini Garden Tour!

So this is it. I don’t know the names of all the plants we have, but if you’d love to know their names I can use the app called PictureThis and identify the plant name for you. Just comment down below.

And that’s all! I really wanted to give you guys a more detailed explanation for each plant but I’m no plant expert! Also, out of all the plants in our home, I only own one plant called Lavender Scallops.

My best friend gave it to me so that I could take care of it and make it grow. Sadly, we both thought that it was an indoor plant who only needs few sunlight so I’ve kept it in my room for a long time. I started to notice the leaves falling and I did my best to help the plant recover. The upper part still looks damaged but I am so glad there are new leaves that are sprouting which means that it’s still alive and growing! I’m so thankful that it recovered and I can’t wait to see how much it will grow more.

And that’s all for our home mini garden tour! These plants definitely helped improve the overall look of our house and as I’ve read in so many articles, they help purify air. It’s so good to look at these plants especially when I’m having a really tough day, it’s so calming to look at.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this mini garden tour and expect more posts about plants to come! If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments below!

Jade plants are also my favourite out of all the succulents like your Momma? Hehe

    1. Thank you so much, AJ! I definitely love succulents too! They’re the first ones we had! Ack yes, my mom loves Jade plants so much. I’ve also researched that Jade plants are one of the strongest plants like ever but they are kind of toxic to pets! Thank you so much for reading, AJ. I appreciate it! x

    1. Thank you so much, Eromonsele! At the back of our house we’ve also planted vegetables which really come in handy when we’re out of grocery! It’s a really great app. It identifies the name of the plants and you can diagnose your plants if you notice something wrong with them!

Oh no. Thank you so much for telling me! Sometimes my followers don’t really see my latest posts in the Reader, I don’t know why. I have troubleshooted my blog so many times but it says everything works well. I’m thinking it’s a Jetpack issue. Not really sure though.

Also, I visited your site and I thought I was already following you. But it appears that I haven’t. πŸ™ I followed you now. <3
