Mid-June Life Update

Hello everyone and welcome to another blog post! First, I’d like to apologize for not posting regularly as I would do. My life has gotten really busy since June started and I couldn’t really find so much time to blog and I badly miss reading all your posts! I will do my best to catch up on blog readings as soon as I find time. If you’re wondering what I am doing that I’m so busy, here’s my mid-June life update. Enjoy reading!

Note: This was originally posted last June 15, 2020. I had to repost this and delete the old one as I think it has not been shown on Reader and there’s something wrong with the site stats. You will read the original post right after this paragraph and I am gonna add new stuff after it.

Life Update

1. Working on my own room improvement!

If you’ve read my quarantine life update, then you probably know that I’ve painted the walls of our house white. It looked super clean and minimal which I really love, comparing to what it looked like before. For my parents’ room, we ordered wallpapers from Lazada and when it arrived, we immediately set it up and voila, their room looks like a cozy hotel room. I’ve been super busy decorating parts of our house except for my own room because I’ve ordered wallpapers too and was waiting for it, but sadly, it got cancelled. I don’t really know what happened and it was so annoying that I didn’t reorder. My dad told me that there’s still some white paint left and gave me an idea to just paint the room white and since I love white, I did it.

My parents also decided to finally get rid of my wooden and broken closet and replaced it with the spare closet my kuya (older brother) has. He’s currently living abroad so they decided to transfer the closet to my room and poof, I finally have a new and spacious closet. So yes, I have reorganized my clothes and sorted it out. Now I can really say that I’m kind of organized because my closet is organized and it really feels amazing.

My room was pink before and now that it’s white, it looks really clean, comfortable and spacious. I’ve had my room since I was 12 and I’ve stayed here for such a long time without doing anything new, so painting my walls white was definitely a new feeling for me. I just love how it turned out. Once I finish setting up my room, I will share it to this blog, for sure! Watch out!

Here’s an idea of what I want my room to look like. Sketch by my best friend, Miko.

2. Taking care of plants.

My mom and I made developed a new hobby and we are SO into plants now. She’d go out with her sister to buy plants and it definitely boosted the ambiance of our home. Seeing those lovely plants everyday is just really refreshing. I also have three succulents in my room and it’s really comforting to look at them. We also decided to sell plants online around our area only because we badly need another source of income with the quarantine going on.

3. Creating digital art.

Once again, art. I’m not super productive when it comes to art this month unlike the past few months but I have some commissions to do which to my surprise, seemed impossible for me when I was just starting. I offered one of my digital artwork to my cousin to display it in her wall and she agreed, although I have to buy the frames and print the artwork in high quality myself. Another two of my family members saw my artworks and they asked me to paint something which they’ll display in their walls too and that’s how I got the commissions.

4. Moving out.

This is the last one for this list. In my country and area, all under 21 years are considered as minors and cannot really go out unless badly needed. I’m 19 and I need to move out from where I stayed my freshman year because if I didn’t, the payment for rent would continue. It actually really sucks because I’m not staying there and I still have to pay for rent. Earlier this day, we’ve been arranging papers, medical clearances and travel pass so that I could finally move out from my condo.

Tomorrow, June 16th, I’m finally going back to Manila and will be saying good bye to where I stayed for one year. We still don’t have any updates if we’re gonna have a face-to-face classes this coming August. The cases are still going up everyday so I don’t really know. So yeah, for the mean time, until there comes certainty, I’m just gonna stay in our home, spend time with family and play with my pets.

Note: The following are written this day, June 17, 2020.

Hello everyone! I finally moved out yesterday and I was able to bring home all of my stuff. Now, I have my printer, clothes, art materials and books. I am honestly so happy to finally have my things back here in home. My plan for the following days and weeks is to decorate my room and print a lot of pictures for my memory corner.

I had a lot of mixed feelings upon moving out. I was happy to finally finish my freshman year in college but I’ll for sure miss the condo unit that I’ve stayed for 1 year. Since there’s still a pandemic going on, I doubt and we’re not yet really sure if we’ll have an academic freeze, online classes and/or face-to-face classes. For the mean time, while I still have a lot of time to spare, I’m gonna use it to do and cultivate the things I love.

Thank you so much for reading this life update! Again, I will catch up on reading blog posts as soon as I find free time. I also have a lot of pending awards to do so I’m gonna do my best to develop a good blogging schedule that would not compromise the tasks I have to do.

Let’s chat! How are you doing these past few weeks?

See you in my next post, bye!

  3. Hey Jirah! I donโ€™t know if this comment will go through or not… hopefully youโ€™ve been able to figure the glitch thing out. ๐Ÿ˜Š
I love the sketch your friend drew of your room ideas! It looks so pretty and peaceful!
I spent these past few weeks finding ways every day to do new things, no matter how small, and get out of the house as often as possible. Self-quarantining was starting to wear on me and I felt somewhat stir-crazy, so Iโ€™ve had to find ways to make the days vary or else Iโ€™d feel crazy! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™ve spent time outside, gone to a few different stores (not too many, the mask-wearing and social distancing rules intimidate me…), played new games, and written different fun blog posts.

    1. Hi, Maggie! Yes, your comment came through! ๐Ÿ™‚
Thank you so much! I’ll tell him that!
Same here! The whole new situation outside scares me. I’ve had to move out from where I was staying for my college and it’s so scary that I’ve seen people not wearing masks. I’ve been paranoid since then lol.
Thanks for your comment, Maggie! Much appreciated! <3

  4. Wow, painting walls is indeed tiring. I’m glad that you’ve enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ’–
