Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I’ve been pretty busy lately because I have been researching a lot about going self-hosted and everything related to it (especially which best self-hosting site is the best to use for personal blogs). I am actually kind of having a hard time to decide if I should pursue it or just let it go, besides, I am still free to blog using WordPress no matter what happens. But I also think that it’s really good to have my own domain and I can have more freedom in what themes I use, what widgets to put and everything.
Today’s BEEN SO HOT. The temperature in where I live goes up to 32 degrees and it’s honestly just so hot. I really just want to stay in the shower until it finally becomes night and the weather would cool down. Geez, it’s really so hot. Anyway, don’t mind my little rant! Haha.
Earlier today, I was looking at my bookshelf and I thought that some of my books really have pretty covers and then I got this idea to take pictures of it to share to you. I really wish that I’ve gotten to bring all my books home because I left many of it at where I’m staying for college. Anyway, here are the books I have that has pretty covers.
The classic The Selection series. I only have the first three books and I’ve only read the first three, which I really love. I’ve heard that the following books weren’t really good unlike the first three. Sadly for me, my book, The Elite, has been missing for years. Yes, it’s heartbreaking.
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I’ve never thought that Frankenstein would have a really good book cover like this. And the best part? I only got this book for 190 Php in the annual Big Bad Wolf Booksale that happened in the Philippines last February.
The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. This is included in the Penguin Puffin + Pantone collection. It is a distinctive collection of classic novels paired with their definitive color match; it combines two universal art forms to create a series as diverse and boundless as the color spectrum. The power of words and color can inspire generations. When I saw the book cover, I immediately added it to the cart. Besides, it’s Wizard of Oz.
The Hunger Games Trilogy. I also bought these two at Big Bad Wolf and sadly, I think there are no more copies of the first book. I really like The Hunger Games and geez, I really wanted to put these books on my shelf. The book cover is really pretty and the message it brings is just as powerful as ever.
I really wish I had one for The Hunger Games too. 🙁
And that is all! I know that I have so many books in my bookshelf still left unread, but I just can’t help buying new ones especially when I go to a bookstore! And at this time, I went to a book fair which is the Big Bad Wolf and I bought 15 new books. Half of it are classics and half are historical and philosophical books.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you liked this post!
Which book cover is your favorite?
Anyway, I know that we shouldn’t judge books by its covers… but, I’m sorry. Is it just me or nah? One thing that catches my eye the first are the covers; like what happened to me when I bought The Selection series. But yeah, the message of the book is more important than its appearance. 🙂
