Books I Have That Has Pretty Covers

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I’ve been pretty busy lately because I have been researching a lot about going self-hosted and everything related to it (especially which best self-hosting site is the best to use for personal blogs). I am actually kind of having a hard time to decide if I should pursue it or just let it go, besides, I am still free to blog using WordPress no matter what happens. But I also think that it’s really good to have my own domain and I can have more freedom in what themes I use, what widgets to put and everything.

Today’s BEEN SO HOT. The temperature in where I live goes up to 32 degrees and it’s honestly just so hot. I really just want to stay in the shower until it finally becomes night and the weather would cool down. Geez, it’s really so hot. Anyway, don’t mind my little rant! Haha.

Earlier today, I was looking at my bookshelf and I thought that some of my books really have pretty covers and then I got this idea to take pictures of it to share to you. I really wish that I’ve gotten to bring all my books home because I left many of it at where I’m staying for college. Anyway, here are the books I have that has pretty covers.

The classic The Selection series. I only have the first three books and I’ve only read the first three, which I really love. I’ve heard that the following books weren’t really good unlike the first three. Sadly for me, my book, The Elite, has been missing for years. Yes, it’s heartbreaking.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I’ve never thought that Frankenstein would have a really good book cover like this. And the best part? I only got this book for 190 Php in the annual Big Bad Wolf Booksale that happened in the Philippines last February.

img_7531The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. This is included in the Penguin Puffin + Pantone collection. It is a distinctive collection of classic novels paired with their definitive color match; it combines two universal art forms to create a series as diverse and boundless as the color spectrum. The power of words and color can inspire generations. When I saw the book cover, I immediately added it to the cart. Besides, it’s Wizard of Oz.

img_7532The Hunger Games Trilogy. I also bought these two at Big Bad Wolf and sadly, I think there are no more copies of the first book. I really like The Hunger Games and geez, I really wanted to put these books on my shelf. The book cover is really pretty and the message it brings is just as powerful as ever.

I really wish I had one for The Hunger Games too. 🙁

And that is all! I know that I have so many books in my bookshelf still left unread, but I just can’t help buying new ones especially when I go to a bookstore! And at this time, I went to a book fair which is the Big Bad Wolf and I bought 15 new books. Half of it are classics and half are historical and philosophical books.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you liked this post!

Which book cover is your favorite?

Anyway, I know that we shouldn’t judge books by its covers… but, I’m sorry. Is it just me or nah? One thing that catches my eye the first are the covers; like what happened to me when I bought The Selection series. But yeah, the message of the book is more important than its appearance. 🙂

  3. I love that cover of Hunger Games! I saw it last year in Big Bad Wolf in Dubai – hesitant on buying it because I already have the original covers but was still tempting! Love the pastel colors.

    1. So true! I also took a lot of time decide whether to buy it or not. Ending, I did. 😅 Thank you so much for reading!! Take care! ✨

  4. They are all so pretty in their own way! ✨ I used to have The Selection and I wish I still did as I gave it away 😂 The Wizard of Oz looks so beautiful 😍 Its been a while since a book cover has caught my attention but my favourite of all time has to be The Fandom by Anna Day because it looks so real with thorns on it. Great post! 💕

    1. I agree!!! 💕 Oh, but I bet the one you gave the book to love it so much. 😊 I definitely agree with the plain pastel yellow! Oh I don’t really know about that book so I’m gonna go search it. Thank you so much, Elsie! Take care!! ❤️✨

  5. I love The Selection, not only the cover is gorgeous but I love the story

    1. I agree!!! I definitely love its first three books!! ❤️ Thank you so much for reading. Take care! ❤️✨

      1. Omg yeah, I was so talking about the first three books! I made my sister read it and I was like. There is a sequel about their daughter but I’m not giving you the books because it’s bad 😂

        1. Omg yep!!! I’ve heard a lot of reviews about it being bad but because it’s The Selection and it’s written by Kiera Cass, it becomes forgiven. 😂

          1. It wasn’t necessarily bad but Adeline (pretty sure that’s her name) is such a bad character and makes the series less enjoyable

  6. Yaaaaas, book posts!! Ahaha. I also love the Frankenstein one–it’s just so pretty especially on that background and with the little hearts surrounding it—you did a wonderful job on the photo taking process for this post! 🙂

I also love The Selection covers, they look super neat and I may have to check them out!

I’ve been craving books and libraries lately (despite still not physically reading a pile of books I have D: ) and actually just secretly ordered 3 from Amazon the other day (two of them are books I took out for a few years but never got to wear (haha, I meant read) and one is a book I took out a couple times but never read), here’s hoping I can actually read them when they’re completely in my own possession (it may take me a year though 😉 ).

But yeah, I love books too and I really enjoyed this post! Great job!!! xxx

  7. The Frankenstein one looks sooo good. I’ve been meaning to read the Selection. – XOXO chana

    1. Aaaah I agree!! 🙌🏼 The first three books of The Selection series are really good! I hope you enjoy it!! ❤️✨

  8. Beb! One thing I learned when I moved here sa UAE eh magkakaiba pala ang covers depende sa place! Hahaha. Nasanay ako sa covers sa PH. Yung mga nasa Big Bad Wolf mostly ganon ang covers dito ng books. Mas maganda tsaka mas aesthetic tignan. Parang mas minimalistic rin. 🙂

Nag-enjoy ako sa first books ng The Selection pero di ko alam saang book ako nag-stop. Hindi ko alam if tumanda lang ako at nagbago na taste ko or nag-iba yung flow ng story. Haha huhu

  9. I love the Hunger Games Trilogy cover <3 Sarap sa eyes hihi
