Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today is kind of different from my usual posts because I will talk about baking! I have never written a post about baking and I don’t know if you all will like it, but it doesn’t hurt to try! I don’t even know how to write a recipe post so I think I’m gonna save that for later. In this post, I’m gonna talk about the baking sessions with my mom.
For the record, my mom and I have no experiences with baking and we have only tried it this quarantine. Quarantine is not a productivity contest. There is in no way I am trying to brag about the productivity and the stuff we have/did this quarantine, but it is our way with coping with the new normal. And don’t worry, we don’t hoard food supplies from the market- most of the ingredients are already available at home. Let’s start!
We do have a bunch of oreos at home (which sadly, caused my teeth to ache) and since we don’t really have a lot of work to do, we tried searching on how to make an oreo cheesecake. Since we don’t have an oven, we searched for the no-bake one and it’s a good thing that there are a lot of tutorials in Youtube and I am so glad we found one that’s easy to follow.
The only hard part in doing this cheesecake is the mixing of ingredients. My mom had to mix the ingredients for more than three hours because we don’t have a mixing machine. Since my teeth was kind of aching already that time, I was of no help. We followed the tutorial carefully but since we don’t have a mixing machine, I don’t think we did it successfully. Still, it tastes SO GOOD and I really just can’t stop eating. Here are some photos!
I would rate this oreo cheesecake an 8 out of 10. 🙂 Minus two points for the presentation because the cheese didn’t become so frozen as we are expecting. If you want to try making this oreo cheesecake too, here is the Youtube tutorial we followed. Honestly, this video is so aesthetically pleasing too.
Chocolate Cake Topped with Almonds
To our surprise, we could actually use our turbo boiler for baking. My mom and dad realized that it actually works like an oven at some point so my mom tried baking a chocolate cake. It was honestly SO delicious but sadly I have to refrain from eating a lot because I need to take care of my teeth… it’s badly aching because I have braces and I haven’t been to the dentist for months. 🙁 Here are the pictures of the chocolate cake!
I would rate this chocolate cake a 10 out of 10. Good job, Mama!
This is the last one for now. Since my mom get to finally learn about the basics of baking, she IS TRYING to bake all sorts of cakes and all. I am honestly just so happy that she found a new hobby this quarantine… and she really is good at it! 🙂
There, I would rate this banana cake another 10 out of 10 because it really tastes good.
And no, I’m not an expert at rating cakes and I just rate everything on how it tastes to me. Haha. And besides, it’s my mom baking so I am gonna support her all the way! I even ask her to make a Youtube channel and I will be the one to film and edit everything… she doesn’t want it at first but I think she’s reconsidering it. 🙂
That’s all for today! I know I don’t really post baking stuff like this but I hope you enjoyed it. I’m gonna ask my mom soon if I can post her recipes if ever she tries to bake again.
Thank you all so much for reading!
Do you love baking?
I will see you in the next post. Bye!
